march music

The only march madness I really care about, to be honest.

This month, I ~discovered~ a significant amount of new music, thanks to a few resources:

1. I got into college (whoop-dee-doo) and was added to a Facebook group. After scrolling through numerous introductions from my future peers, I realized how freaking cool all of these people are and that I needed to step up my game. I’m only half-joking. I feel like music automatically boosts cool points without having to update much else about myself, so I turned to Spotify to make me cool again.

2. My emotions have been on crack this month. I have cycled between an otherworldly type of happiness and devastating sadness continuously for the past 31 days. Maybe it was the rain (what the hell, California?) or perhaps the realization that I’ll be moving [alone] across the country [officially] in less than five months, but my heart has been on overload. I’m looking forward to a sunnier April, but for now, I’ve turned to tunes to unload my soul.

3. I need good music to write to! There are a few kinds of writers in this world, and I applaud any one of them who can sit in the dark in absolute silence and pound out entire novels; the thing is, though – I cannot do that. I’ve always been the girl who couldn’t even fall asleep unless I had my sound machine on or my fan on full-blast (even in the dead of winter). Music gets my brain gears grinding, but I wasn’t really flowing to throwback Hannah Montana or the new Jonas Brothers song (sorry, boys).

There you have it, folks. I’ve been really loving my playlists lately, so I’m excited to share the sounds that have filled my ears for the past month. Follow my Spotify (@rileeeyy_) for the full playlists. Adieu & good jamming!
